That's easy. Just visit our Tickets page and submit your order.
Absolutely not. Just enter 0 for all cruise ticket options when submitting your order. The raffle will be drawn during the cruise but we will make sure that any winners who are not on the cruise are notified and receive their prize as soon as possible.
Unfortunately not. In previous cruises, we've went for bank transfer so that we do not need the extra security of collecting your credit card details or reducing the donation to Starlight due to us having to pay between 1.9% and 2.9% commission on credit card payments (or charge you the commission, which we don't want to do either). It worked before and we will continue with that approach.
Paid child tickets (aged 5 - 12) will receive everything that an adult ticket receives.
Free child tickets (<5) are welcome to come along and enjoy the day and the free soft drinks/water and lunch but do not receive the free raffle tickets.
We cannot make any special provisions for children, other than the dietary requirements, so if you need anything else for them, please bring it along.
As this isn't our first cruise, you can view the cheque being handed over to Starlight at our 2014 Story page (we got hi-tech and used direct deposit in 2018). We've also uploaded our endorsement letter from Starlight for you to view.
At present, we are booked on the same boat as in 2018, which is the classic Rosman Ferries, Royale (2013 was the Radar, 2014 the Proclaim and 2018 the Royale).
It is the biggest dance floor we've ever had and we know people like dancing on the cruise but there is also a chance that we will be back where it all started on the Radar .
The Radar has been out of commission receiving a complete overhaul for many years now but it might be back in the water in December 2019. It is a bit smaller than the Royale but if numbers are down then it may suit us and comes with added nostalgia. We will let all cruise participants know as soon as we do.
The boat will arrive at King St Wharf at 11:00am on the day and depart at 11:15am. We will return to King St Wharf around 3pm and will need everyone off the boat within 15 minutes.
Under the NSW Maritime rules for Australia Day, we will have 15 minutes to load (and unload) everyone at King St Wharf or we have to pay additional charges. Please be on time! We will provide you with a mobile number to call on the day if you are late (or we may call you if you provide us with your mobile number when ordering tickets) and we will see what we can do.
One of the reasons that we leave King St Wharf at 11:15am is that we will be in the perfect spot for the end of the Ferrython (bring your coins for our Ferrython sweep). After that, there are numerous events that take place on Sydney Harbour on the day and we will try to get in the best spot to see those.
We'll be in control but we also have to remember that there will be hundreds or thousands of other boats with the same ideas as us so it might not be possible. However, the Rosman crew have been great at getting us into some great spots in previous years.
At this point, we're still finalising the food but we are planning a similar fare to previous years. Roast chicken, bread rolls, mixed salads and other vegetarian options. Please let us know of any special dietary requirements when booking your tickets and we will do our best to accommodate them.
We will update the FAQs as we formalise the plans and also keep people who have purchased tickets updated.
Due to the current NSW law a licenced person has to serve drinks from the bar on the boat (even if we bring our own drinks). If you pre-purchase some drinks, we will try and ensure that there is enough for everyone to get what they prefer. Drinks will also be able to be bought on the cruise and we have done our best to keep those costs to an absolute minimum.
There are two outdoor areas on the boat and we will designate one of them for smoking on the day. We kindly request that smokers stick to the area that we designate.
The raffle prizes will be drawn at various points throughout the cruise. If you are on the cruise and aren't able to take your prize, we will ensure that it gets to you afterwards. This is the same for people who win a prize but aren't on the cruise.
The simplest way would be to buy raffle tickets, which can be purchased without cruise tickets. If you would prefer to donate to Starlight through our cruise or help in the organisation, provide raffle prizes or other assistance then please contact us .
